Destiny saw the words “weird music, opera singing, and whiskey” in his profile and swiped. After sending each other links to weird music, which turned out to be Death Grips and a shared enjoyment of video game soundtracks, they agreed to meet at “the bone museum” on Halloween. Cue Destiny arriving early to Oklahoma’s Museum of Osteology in South OKC, shooting off an “I’m here. Going inside to buy tickets,” text and getting “I’m close,” as a response. And then receiving a phone call. “You don’t happen to be wearing a lot of OU gear do you?” No. Declan was calling from the Sam Noble Museum of Natural History, about 45 minutes and 2 cities further south in Norman, Oklahoma. Unbeknownst to Destiny, the museum is well known for its large collection of fossils. One agonizing hour later, safely at the Museum of Osteology, the pair spent the afternoon swapping stories and looking at curiosities, and the rest is history!

Declan wakes up first, and heads downstairs to start preparing his pour over coffee with fresh grounds. Destiny hits snooze several times. On a work day, Destiny will run out the door after twenty minutes of getting ready and Declan will take an hour or more to wake up, feed the animals, and goof off on the computer before heading out. Once they're both back home, the couple finds something new to cook, something new to watch, and something cozy to do together (with their kitties) before heading to bed. On weekends, the pair likes to grocery shop, play video games together or with friends, attend local events, or test each other's whiskey knowledge with blind pours (Declan always wins).

Welcome to Night Vale - a fiction podcast centering around a friendly desert town - had a live show tour stop in Oklahoma City. Described as "exploring themes of nostalgia, memory and perfection," Declan could not have chosen a more perfect evening to pop the question. After overthinking for months, Declan finally found an opportunity for a simple, memorable, sweet proposal. He snuck a gift basket into Destiny's car, hid the ring in his jacket, and then bided his time until the show ended. The show closed with a call to make memories with your loved ones, and they did just that. After the show, Declan surprised Destiny by getting down on one knee. They cried (happy tears), hugged, kissed, and now... They're happy to celebrate this next chapter in their lives with you. It's going to be a WILD time!
